Kainuwa Adamawa Engr Salihijo Leads Thank-You Visit to the Lamido Adamawa

Following the conferment of the traditional title of Kainuwa Adamawa on him by the Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, the former Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, led a strong delegation on a thank-you visit to the revered monarch at his palace in Yola on Thursday.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Maaji Adamawa, Alhaji Abubakar Rufai, thanked Lamido Adamawa for the honour bestowed on Engr. Salihijo Ahmad, describing the title as well deserved and capable of strengthening unity within the family.

He described the new Kainuwa Adamawa as a tested and trusted individual, citing his record of service, and assured the monarch that the Adamawa Emirate would not regret the decision to confer the title on him.

In an interview with journalists shortly after the visit, the Kainuwa Adamawa, Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, expressed profound appreciation to the Lamido Adamawa for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to justify the honour.

He said he would deploy his wealth of experience and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to development within the council, adding that he would also draw from the collective wisdom of other traditional title holders for the advancement of the Adamawa Emirate.

Engr. Salihijo expressed gratitude to all those who accompanied him on the thank-you visit for their support and solidarity.

Also speaking to journalists on behalf of the family of  Kainuwa Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Abubakar, said the family was proud of the traditional title conferred on their brother.

While appreciating the Lamido Adamawa for the trust and confidence placed in their family, Alhaji Bashir assured that they would continue to guide and support the Kainuwa Adamawa designate on a path that promotes unity and development within the emirate.

The delegation comprised family members, friends, and associates, including Alhaji Abubakar Rufai (Maaji Adamawa); Alhaji Goni Wali, Alhaji Aminu Wali, Alhaji Saad Maliki, and Alhaji Jaafar Maliki (uncles); Alhaji Bashir Abubakar, Alhaji Sahabo Murtala, and Alhaji Saad Murtala Ahmad (elder brothers); as well as Aliyu Inuwa Kano Shinko.

It would be recalled that in a letter dated November 25, 2025, the Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, conferred the traditional title of Kainuwa Adamawa on Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad in recognition of his selfless service to humanity.
