Yola Airforce School Applauds NEDC’s Solar Street Light Initiative 

The Commandant of Airforce Comprehensive Secondary School, Yola, Wing Commander S. I. Tahir, has paid a courtesy visit to the State Coordinator of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Barr. Khalifa M. Lawan, to express appreciation for the commission’s installation of solar-powered street lights within the school premises.

The visit, which took place at the NEDC State Office in Yola, was aimed at acknowledging the commission’s effort in enhancing security and improving the learning environment through the recently completed solar street light project.

During the visit, Wing Commander Tahir presented a Letter of Commendation to Barr. Khalifa, describing the project as a major boost to safety, convenience, and nighttime visibility within the school. He noted that the intervention has improved both academic and extracurricular activities by creating a safer and more conducive atmosphere for students and staff.

“The NEDC’s commitment to infrastructure development in the North East is commendable,” said Wing Commander Tahir. “This project goes beyond lighting—it reflects an investment in the welfare and security of our students, for which we remain sincerely grateful.”

In his response, Barr. Khalifa M. Lawan thanked the Commandant and his team for the recognition, describing it as an encouraging testament to the commission’s developmental impact. He reaffirmed the NEDC’s dedication to community-focused projects that promote sustainability, education, and safety.
