Sen. Bomai Empowers Youths With N1 Million Each Across Yobe South, Expands Welfare Initiatives

In a significant move aimed at tackling poverty and fostering economic growth, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, representing the Yobe South Senatorial District, has launched a robust youth empowerment programme.

Daily Chronicles learned that under the initiative, several young people from his constituency have each received the sum of one million naira to establish or expand their businesses.

The financial assistance, which extends across the four Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Fika, Potiskum, Fune, and Nangere.

Speaking on the development, Alhaji Idi Jugu Jugu, a Legislative Aide to the Senator, emphasised that the empowerment programme was designed to alleviate poverty among the youth and that it would be a continuous endeavour.

“This initiative is just the beginning. Senator Bomai has pledged to sustain this intervention to ensure that more people benefit from it. In the coming weeks, widows and women in the constituency will also receive financial support of N500,000 each to aid them in starting small-scale businesses,” Tamana disclosed.

One of the beneficiaries, Shuaibu Hussaini Labbo, expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a life-changing opportunity. “This financial support will go a long way in transforming my business and improving my standard of living. I sincerely thank Senator Bomai for this noble gesture,” he remarked.

As part of his Ramadan support programme, he has gifted all Councillors across the four LGAs N100,000 each to ease their financial burdens during the holy month.

Additionally, dozens of bags of rice and sugar are being distributed across all electoral wards in the senatorial district to provide relief to households facing economic hardship.

In light of these accomplishments, some political figures within the state have urged Senator Bomai to consider running for the governorship of Yobe State in 2027.

Abubakar Baba Dada, a prominent APC stalwart in the region, made a public appeal, stating, “We strongly believe that Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai is the right person to lead Yobe State after the tenure of Governor Mai Mala Buni. His track record in leadership and infrastructural development speaks volumes. We, therefore, urge him to contest in 2027, as he possesses the necessary qualifications and experience to govern the state effectively.”

Adding to the discourse, Yusuf Zaki, another close aide to Senator Bomai, reaffirmed the Senator’s commitment to the well-being of his people. “Senator Bomai is a man of action, and his passion for serving his people is evident in all his initiatives. His ultimate goal is to see a transformed Yobe South where opportunities abound for all. Whether it is youth empowerment, women’s financial inclusion, infrastructural development, or welfare support, he remains consistent in delivering impactful projects. His works speak for him, and it is no surprise that people are calling on him to take a bigger role in governance,” Zaki stated.
