Ramadan: Sen. Bomai Distributes Food Items, Palliatives to Constituents

Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, representing Yobe South Senatorial District, has initiated the distribution of rice, essential food items, and palliatives to his constituents across 44 wards in three local government areas: Potiskum, Fika, and Fune.

The distribution exercise, which commenced on Monday at the Bolewa A. area of Potiskum Local Government, is part of the senator’s efforts to alleviate the economic hardships faced by his people, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Alhaji Yusuf Zaki, an aide to Senator Bomai, who officially launched the distribution, highlighted the senator’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of his constituents.

Zaki stated, “This palliative distribution is a testament to Senator Bomai’s dedication to the welfare of the people of Yobe South. We are ensuring that the exercise reaches all 44 wards across Potiskum, Fika, and Fune. Today, we are here at Bolewa A. to distribute rice and other essential food items to some beneficiaries, but this is just the start. Our aim is to extend this support to every corner of Yobe South, leaving no one behind.”

Zaki also stressed the senator’s broader initiatives aimed at empowering the youth and addressing unemployment in the region.

“Beyond the food items, we are also providing business capital to young people to help them start their own ventures. So far, we have disbursed significant funds to youths in Yobe South as part of our efforts to combat unemployment and foster sustainable livelihoods. These programs will continue to ensure that unemployment is significantly reduced in our senatorial district,” he added.

The distribution initiative has been met with widespread appreciation from beneficiaries and community leaders.

Ibrahim Muhammad, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his gratitude, noting that the support was both timely and impactful. “This distribution couldn’t have come at a better time, especially during Ramadan when many vulnerable families are facing difficulties. The rice, food items, and other forms of assistance will greatly ease our burdens and provide much-needed relief,” he said.

Community and youth leaders present at the event also praised Senator Bomai for his efforts in bringing relief to the people.
