Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has disbursed empowerment packages worth N1 billion to thousands of youths, focusing on boosting technical skills.
The initiative includes training 1,050 young people in GSM phone repairs and providing them with modern toolkits and seed capital. An additional 3,500 apprentices received cash and tools.
“It gives me immense pleasure… to stand before you today on this historic occasion,” Zulum said at the launch in Maiduguri.
The governor also highlighted other educational investments, including sponsoring youths to study aircraft piloting and supporting hundreds pursuing higher degrees abroad.
