The Akko Emirate Community Development Association held its end-of-year meeting at the palace of the Lamido of Akko, bringing together sons and daughters of the Emirate to assess achievements recorded during the year and to strengthen collective efforts toward sustainable development.
In his address, the President of the Association, Alhaji Idris Muhammad Atiku, District Head of Barunde, commended members for their strong and consistent commitment and shared sense of responsibility toward the growth of Akko Emirate. He explained that the Association’s development agenda is focused on key areas such as security, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, which remain central to the progress of the Emirate.
Speaking as the father of the Association, Alhaji Umar Lamido Chikaire emphasized that unity remains the foundation of meaningful development. He called on sons and daughters of Akko Emirate to continue working together in harmony, with the aim of improving the welfare of the people and securing a better future for generations to come.
Alhaji Ahmad Yayari, the former PDP National Treasurer, underscored the need for strong unity, collective harmony, and a shared commitment to progress, stressing that sustained cooperation among the people remains the key to advancing the development of Akko Emirate.
The Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Muhammad Luggerowo, noted that the steady development being witnessed in Akko Emirate is a result of the support, guidance, and encouragement provided by the Lamido of Akko, which has continued to inspire positive progress across the Emirate.
Also speaking at the event, the Chief Whip of the 10th National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, highlighted several major projects attracted to the area. These include the Federal Medical Centre, Kumo, the Lincoln University, Malaysia campus in Kumo, construction of township roads, renovation of schools, and the establishment of a modern water supply scheme. He praised Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya for his role in supporting development initiatives within the Emirate.
In his closing remarks, the Lamido of Akko, Alhaji Dr. Umar Muhammad Atiku, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and appreciated the people of Akko Emirate for their continued support and cooperation in the collective pursuit of development.
The meeting was attended by notable personalities, including Alhaji Gimba Yau Kumo, former Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria; Dr. Gaji Samaila Bello; Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Muhammad S. Bello, MNATE, Coordinator of RIFAN Special Projects, Gombe State; as well as District Heads, Village Heads, and other stakeholders from across the Emirate.
The gathering was rounded off with a feast, during which participants interacted freely and further strengthened bonds of unity and brotherhood.
