Alhaji Kagu Alibe, former Borno SSG, dies at 80

Alhaji Mohammed Kagu Alibe, mni, OON, has passed on.

Borno Elders Forum (BEF) has announced the death of the respected elder statesman and former secretary to the Government of Borno State.

He passed away in the early hours of today, at the age of 80.

Alhaji Alibe was a distinguished public servant, a member of the Senior Executive Course 10 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, and the Chairman of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Borno/Yobe branch.

In a statement this morning, Dr. B. M. Gubio, who is BEF’s spokesman, said the forum expressed immense gratitude to Almighty Allah for the impactful life of the late elder while mourning his departure with heavy hearts.

‘He left behind his extended family and all of us,’ the statement read.

His Janazah (burial) prayer is scheduled for 4:00 PM today at his residence in Old GRA, Maiduguri.

The forum prays that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, has mercy upon his soul, and admits him into the highest rank of Aljannah Firdaus.
