The Adamawa State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barrister Leader Leneke, has held a thanksgiving service in appreciation to God following his recent appointment by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The service, which took place at Praise Chapel, brought together family members, friends, well wishers, government officials, and members of the Christian community.
Speaking during the event, Barrister Leneke expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness, guidance, and blessings throughout his life’s journey. He also thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for finding him worthy to serve in his administration as Commissioner for Information and Strategy.
The Commissioner pledged to discharge his responsibilities with dedication, commitment, and integrity in support of the development agenda of the state government.
In his sermon, the Presiding Bishop of Praise Chapel, Bishop Edwin Jarumai, called on Christians to cultivate the habit of giving thanks to God in all circumstances. He emphasized that gratitude is a vital aspect of the Christian faith and encouraged believers to continually acknowledge God’s faithfulness in their lives.
Bishop Jarumai noted that Barrister Leneke appointment reflected God divine purpose and faithfulness. He recalled Leneke long-standing service in the church and stated that his elevation to a position of leadership demonstrated that God rewards faithfulness, perseverance, and dedication despite life’s challenges.
The cleric urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith and trust in God, regardless of the difficulties they may encounter.
He also encouraged Christians to actively participate in politics and governance, stressing that leadership provides an opportunity to contribute positively to society and advance the common good.
According to the Bishop, aspiring political leaders should not be discouraged by setbacks, such as failing to secure political tickets, but should remain patient, trust in God’s timing, and continue pursuing their aspirations with faith and determination.
Also speaking at the event, the General Manager of the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Yola, Engineer Amos Ulea Ibrahim, who was represented by the Director of News and Current Affairs, Mrs. Blessing Ishaya Theman, expressed appreciation and support for the Commissioner.
Mrs. Theman congratulated Barrister Leneke on his appointment and prayed for God to grant him wisdom, strength, and divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities. She expressed confidence in his leadership and wished him success in advancing the objectives of the Ministry of Information and Strategy.
The member representing Demsa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Kate Mamuno, also congratulated Barrister Leneke on his appointment. She described him as a man of integrity, dedication, and proven leadership qualities, noting that she had worked closely with him politically and was familiar with his commitment to public service.
Hon. Mamuno thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for giving Barrister Leneke the opportunity to serve in the State Executive Council and expressed confidence that he would justify the trust reposed in him. She described the appointment as well deserved and prayed for God’s wisdom and guidance as he assumes his new responsibilities.
In his remarks, the immediate past Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. James Iliya, described Barrister Leneke as a trustworthy, dedicated, and capable leader.
Hon. Iliya expressed confidence that his successor would build on the achievements and projects initiated during his tenure and further strengthen the ministry capacity to deliver on its mandate.
He expressed optimism that the Ministry of Information and Strategy would witness greater progress under Barrister Leneke leadership, in line with the development vision of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri administration.
Special prayers were offered for Barrister Leader Leneke, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and the continued peace, unity, and development of Adamawa State.
