The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has announced Dr. Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting presided over by the party leader in the state and Governor of Gombe, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
At the meeting, the party also ratified consensus candidates for the three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats, and all 24 State House of Assembly constituencies.
The session drew attendance from governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly aspirants, alongside members of the State Working Committee (EXCO), party elders, and other key stakeholders. Also present were North-East zonal officials of the APC, including the Deputy National Financial Secretary, as well as other senior party figures.
Party leaders said the adoption of consensus candidates followed extensive consultations led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya. The process involved engagements with party executives, aspirants, and grassroots stakeholders, with the aim of strengthening internal cohesion, reducing disputes, and presenting a united front ahead of the elections.
The development builds on a series of prior consultations convened by the governor, part of ongoing efforts to consolidate unity and reinforce the party’s structure across the state.
