Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has directed the immediate implementation of outstanding promotions for civil servants in the state, with a firm assurance that all affected workers will receive their financial benefits before the end of May.
The governor gave the directive while receiving officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Adamawa State chapter, during a courtesy visit at Government House, stressing that the Accountant General must ensure full payment of all entitlements once the promotion records are updated.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s worker friendly policy, noting that government will continue to prioritize the welfare and career progression of civil servants as part of efforts to strengthen public service delivery and promote inclusive governance in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Adamawa State, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, expressed condolences to the state government and families affected by the recent attack in Guyaku community of Gombi Local Government Area.
He said organised labour shares in the grief of the people and stands firmly with the Governor in this difficult moment.
He described the visit as a show of solidarity, assuring the Governor of the continued support of workers across the state.
Comrade Fashe stated that labour remains committed to the administration, noting that the government has been worker friendly and inclusive, with the appointment of labour leaders into key positions.
The NLC Chairman also urged the Governor to sustain the gains recorded by ensuring that his successor values workers and the welfare of the common people.
He appreciated the administration’s support over the years and invited the Governor to attend the upcoming Workers’ Day celebration.
