The Governor’s visit was aimed at getting first-hand information on the incident, engaging with community leaders, victims’ families, and security agencies, and ensuring that the truth behind the unfortunate events is fully understood.
Governor Fintiri expressed deep concern over the loss of innocent lives and properties, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable. He emphasized that the protection of civilians remains a top priority of his administration and assured residents that justice will prevail.
During the visit, the Governor called for calm, unity, and restraint, urging all parties to avoid actions that could escalate tensions. He also assured the affected communities that the state government will work with relevant authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly, hold those found culpable accountable, and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace, security, and coexistence among all ethnic groups in Adamawa State, stressing that no tribe or community should be targeted or marginalized.
The State government, he added, will continue to strengthen dialogue, security coordination, and community engagement to ensure lasting peace across the state.
